#8 - Ezekiel's Temple: Ezekiel's Temple Fulfilled (Part 2) - Ezekiel's Leadership

Some Background on the Temple Debate    In the mind of those that hold Ezekiel's temple vision to be future, much of this learning began as a simple oversight of what is actually indicated in the text itself and now has become a regurgitation of the same errors that one person has passed on to the next. Some future temple and so-called 'Torah observant' communities suppose that the dimensions don't match any historic temples built in Jerusalem in the past, or that the "prince" mentioned in Ezekiel 40-48 is Jesus Christ at His second coming, or that presence of God did not dwell in the second temple built in Jerusalem (516 BC - 18 BC). These are all common misconceptions and overlooked information that can be easily corrected in the text of Ezekiel's vision. It has not been lost, just not searched for.  Right Where It Should Be     When it comes to errors of interpretation within the Bible a story  found in 2 Kings 22 helps to re-orient us. #7 - Part 1 Ezekiel's Temple: The Most Important Future Temple Text

Ezekiel was an Israelite prophet that had gone into exile during the second of three attacks  that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had waged against the holy city Jerusalem. He was brought to this captivity around 597 BC according to the most common dating. Shortly afterward, in Babylon's third and final attack, the city of Jerusalem and her temple were completely destroyed around 586 BC. This led to intense anguish and hopelessness for God's people at that time because they saw themselves as having no identity or land without their temple in which God dwelt. The people were scattered and the land was to enjoy its sabbaths (70 years) as another prophet of the time, Jeremiah, had announced (2 Chron. 36:21) and as Moses had foretold would be the condition of Israel if they disobeyed God (Lev. 26:43). Still, God in His loving kindness and mercy spoke to the people regarding all that they had lost and continued to guide His people by the prophecies of Ezekiel while they we...

In an attempt to draw some to a conclusion on how we, believers, got from the Old Testament Torah (Law) of Moses to a new and different Law in Christ, I have embarked on a journey to demonstrate that the Torah of Moses has been changed in light of the finished work of Christ. As the focus for this demonstration, I have chosen to identify the most tangible aspect of the Torah of Moses, the tabernacle/temple service and ceremony along with all that it entails. The Torah of Moses begins in Exodus 12 and ends in the last chapter of Deuteronomy, about 126 chapters. Of those 126 chapters, approximately 50 chapters are devoted to the tabernacle/temple system. About 40 % of the Torah of Moses is consumed with the laws attached to this system. So then, as I demonstrate in these blogs that there is no future temple, we are faced with the reality that there is no continuance of the Torah of Moses, the way it is written, and there results a new law in Christ. This may seem to so...
